Dear NS Families and Friends,

Friday, November 11th at 9:30 a.m., North Star Charter School will be having a Veterans Day Assembly to recognize local Veteran’s in our community and in our families. In the past we have created a “Wall of Heroes” to honor those we know who have served in the armed forces.  Students are invited to ask about any Veteran in their family, place the information listed below on a 3×5 index card with a picture on the card if possible. These cards will be used to honor our community veterans on the Wall of Honor.   They can be turned in at the secondary office.

We would also like to recognize Veterans who have received the Purple Heart Medal of Honor and those who were a POW.  We will be collecting monetary donations for the Wounded Warrior Ministry. A $1.00 donation would help pay for collectibles to be sent to the ministry. Please leave your donations in the office labeled Wounded Warrior.

Please complete the form and return it to the office by Friday, 11/4/16. The forms will be placed on the wall in the cafeteria as a visual “thank-you” to our veterans.

An invitation is also included for you to present or mail to any veterans that are friends or family.  Even if they cannot attend, they will appreciate knowing we are thinking of them.  North Star invites these guests to join us for a social gathering with snacks before the assembly, and then process in with the color guard.

If a guest veteran would like to visit a classroom and answer questions, please check with the classroom teacher first.

Thank-you for your support.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Van Paepeghem
