Idaho Statesman Letter to the Editor & Reader’s View – Tips & Guidelines

TIPS FOR BEING PUBLISHED:  Write a brief letter on a subject of PUBLIC INTEREST (MAX OF 200 WORDS). We also publish guest columns by readers under the heading READER’S VIEW (450-600 WORDS). We try to publish letters and Reader’s Views within a two week period. Because letters are shorter, your letter has a better chance of being published in a timely manner. Due to space restrictions, we can only publish selected READER’S VIEWS. Make your point quickly. Include your name, address and daytime phone number. Letters without this information are not accepted. Remember–ALL letters are subject to editing for clarity, libel and good taste. MOST letters are edited for newspaper style and length. If you have questions regarding our Letters to the Editor program, please call (208) 377-6300, or toll free (800) 635-8934.
