Helping Area Families in Need

Oct 9, 2015 | Archives

Dear North Star Families,

North Star is partnering up with the Meridian Optimist Food Club to help families in need around the area. Starting November 9th we will collect

nonperishable food items, household supplies (dish soap, laundry soap, etc.), hygiene products, and baby supplies

. The Meridian Optimist Food Club makes it a goal not only to place items that would make a

Thanksgiving meal or Christmas meal (e.g. boxed stuffing, canned sweet potatoes, pumpkin filling things you would have at your holiday tables)

in each home, but also stock their pantries with all the non-perishables items needed to get them through several weeks.

We feel this program is very important as the need is so great. Please send your donation items with students to place into our green barrels located near the elementary and high school offices. Every single donation helps, and together we hope our combined donations will make a real difference for those in need.

Gratefully,

Your friendly NS Staff
