As a counselor, here at North Star Charter School, it is my mission to provide a comprehensive school counseling program that assists all students in acquiring the skills, knowledge, and attitudes needed to become effective students, respoonsible citizens, productive workers and lifelong learners.

We use CIS extensively here at North Star and now you can access CIS at home. Check with your counselor to get the user name and password. Each year the counseling department receives numerous requests to nominate students for a variety of leadership opportunities:
- The National Youth Leadership Forums offer programs on Medicine; Law; National Security; Defense, Intelligence and Diplomacy; and College Success. If you would like more information, check their website at www.nylf.org.
- The Global Young Leaders Conference offers similar opportunities. Their website is www.cylc.org/GYLC.
- People to People Leadership Program information is available at www.peopletopeople.com.
- Lead America’s website is www.lead-america.org. Contact your counselor if you would like to be nominated for a specific forum.
